The Media Film Festival is seeking original, unproduced short screenplays (up to 30 pages in length), across all genres for its inaugural screenplay competition. 5 screenplays will be selected for live readings

MAC’s monthly jazz performance series featuring young jazz musicians from area high schools and universities as well as a house band of professional jazz musicians. Led by saxophonist Chris Oatts he and local rhythm section will kick off the performance by playing a few selections, and local area high school combos will be invited to perform for and sit in with the professionals. Each performance will have a featured guest artist or theme of the month.
Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol Dramatic Reading
Join Jared Reed in our fourth annual reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with original music by Drew Petersen. Originally produced by Curio Theatre Company in West Philadelphia, Jared has crafted the piece from the reading version enacted by Dickens himself.

Students will have the opportunity to rehearse daily in a small ensemble and to participate in open-mic jam sessions with their peers and faculty. Culminating in a final public concert, participating students will have a primer in the fundamentals of jazz performance to prepare them for future performances, college auditions, and a lifelong love of America’s musical heritage.
