About MAC

Mission

Located in Media, PA, the mission of the Media Arts Council is to actively support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of the entire community. MAC achieves this mission by providing professional artists with opportunities to exhibit, sell, and/or perform, infusing Media with public art installations, providing arts education classes, and offering community arts events.

History

MAC has been a leader in the Delaware County arts scene since 2006 – programming everything from a fine art gallery, an annual international film festival, and a multitude of live performances that include professional musicians, community poetry readings, craft making, and protest art. MAC makes a cultured life for those who live, work, and play in this region.

MAC began as an informal gathering of residents and artists identifying opportunities and challenges facing artists, art supporters, and the community at large. This group evolved into the Board of Directors, which moved to incorporate as a 501(c)(3). MAC hired its first paid staff person in 2010 and moved into a dedicated gallery space in 2015. We vacated that space at the end of 2021. Our new home at the MAC Arts Center has quickly become the place to go in Media to experience art in all its forms.
